Boron Nitride Ceramics
Boron nitride ceramics are made from boron nitride powder by hot pressing and sintering, and then processed according to the size and specification required by customers. Boron nitride, also known as white graphite, is structurally similar to graphite, belonging to the lamellar hexagonal structure, with a theoretical density of 2.27 g / cm3 and a Mohs hardness of 2. It has good electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, excellent thermal shock resistance chemical stability, and good moisture resistance to molten metals, slag and glass.

What are the excellent properties of boron nitride ceramics?
Boron nitride ceramics have excellent machinability and can be machined to complex shapes with minimum tolerances according to customer requirements.
Boron nitride ceramics are resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, have strong electrical insulation, and are 3-4 times more resistant to electrical breakdown than alumina.
Boron nitride ceramics have excellent high temperature resistance, with a service temperature of 1800 degrees under vacuum and 2100 degrees under atmospheric protection.
High thermal conductivity of boron nitride ceramics: hot pressing products for 33W / m.k and pure iron, higher than 530 ℃ is the thermal conductivity of ceramic materials.
Boron nitride ceramics are highly resistant to thermal shock, and after being removed from the air and cooled continuously for hundreds of times, they will not crack in a 1500-degree plunge, nor will they crack in a 1000-degree furnace after 20 minutes of cracking.
Boron nitride ceramics do not react or combine with many metals, ceramics, rare earths and other materials. Such as ferrous metals, iron, copper, stainless steel, bismuth, aluminum, tin, chromium, lead, nickel, magnesium, etc.; glass frit, sodium glass, cryolite, etc.. Silica lava: slag, fluoride, etc., can be used as containers, crucibles, burning plates, etc..
What are the precautions when using boron nitride ceramics?
- The operating temperature in air must not exceed 1000 degrees. Boron nitride surfaces in contact with oxygen will oxidize and flake.
- Boron nitride absorbs moisture easily. The crucible should not be stored in a humid place and should not be rinsed with water, but it can be wiped directly with sandpaper or rubbed with alcohol.
